The quarry is located in a rural area, comprising undulating, eucalypt timbered and partly cleared lands on the mid north coast.It has extensive ridge deposits of volcanic rock, which are highly suitable for mining. The main topographical feature is the centrally located open cut excavation. Boundary and internal fencing post and wire fencing in fair to good condition.
The Igneous deposit was drilled and logged in 2002 to reveal a resource of approx ten million tons. The quarry has a history for its easily won weathered gravel, and with increased quarrying activity in the last ten years, deeper high quality hard rock has been exposed. It requires a drill, blast and crush method of extraction opening a whole range of new markets for specialised applications. Drilling core reports are available.
Decorative material goes to customers in Wollongong , Sydney , Central Coast , Newcastle & Hunter Region, New England, Lower Mid and Far North Coasts , The Tweed, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Specialised markets include polished concrete aggregate for Newcastle, white aggregate for paving bricks and retaining wall blocks in Newcastle.
Current mining of the deposits are in the vacinity of 45,000 - 50,000 tonnes per year
The main structures include two single storey dwellings, an office/amenities building, machinery sheds with open bays, and farm sheds. Quarry includes machinery repair facility and storage shed.
